I lived in this magical place for a few years in my late twenties. It was equal parts the most stunning natural beauty you can ever imagine combined with the intense highs and lows of living in community. I go back every year. This was my first year back after the devastating fire that came through in 2020. I cried pretty much upon arriving here and then again when I saw my friend Paul (seen here). Paul and I met my first summer there. We lived in platform tents next to each other and had the same days off. He was an empty nester spending his year between Breitenbush Hot Springs and Kalani on the Big Island. We had the same days off and the same interests (sunbathing, hot springing, beer and burgers).
